Juan Argüello is a bass player born and raised in Quito, Ecuador and is now based in Los Angeles, California. His career started in 2008 with David Rosales (drummer for Curare) as his musical mentor.
Juan attended Escuela de Musica UDLA in Ecuador and is a graduate of the Los Angeles College of Music (LACM), where he received his Associate of Arts Degree in Bass Performance. Here he studied under the direction of Jerry Watts Jr. He is currently working towards his Bachelor’s degree in Bass Performance at the Musicians Institute (MI) in Hollywood, under the direction of Maurice Verloop, head of the bass department.
His influences range from hard rock and blues to pop and funk and has been an active member of numerous groups including Mr. Jekyll, Vultures of Cydonia, Obsidian Silence, Attaloss, She Tastes The Sun, Arabella and The World Over.
His work as a freelancer has also allowed him to record and perform with up and coming acts like Sofia Zorian, Rossis, Feli and the Lemonshakers, Valentina López and Kira Alexi.
